Job DescriptionThe role of Senior Process Engineer for Post Sputter Engineering is an exciting role in a fast paced setting involved directly in developing and qualifying new processes as well as sustaining of process and leading the charge to ensure successful process delivery for New Product Introduction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop processes as necessary for Post Sputter Engineering, specifically in areas of lubrication and tape polishQualify new processes via running of evaluations and data collection and making interpretation with use of statistical toolsParticipate and lead the Post Sputter Engineering in New Product Introduction( NPI) task forcesCoordinate the New Product Introduction (NPI) runs in post – sputter process areaDocumentation of processes and practicesUse of various tools such as Minitab and Spotfire to make data driven decisionsParticipate and lead activities in FMEA , Process Verification and IMS related to post sputter process.Engage and work for process improvement with various teams such as Maintenance Engineering, QA and Analytics.QualificationsREQUIRED:
Bachelor in Engineering ( Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or equivalent ) or Bachelor of Science ( Physics, Chemistry , Applied Science or equivalent)Minimum 5 years experience working in Industry – preferably in electronic or semiconductor or hard disk manufacturing environment.PREFERRED:
Six Sigma Green Belt and aboveSKILLS
Proficiency in using Minitab, JMP or equivalentProficiency in using Spotfire, Tableau or equivalentProficiency in using Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to communicate effectively in written and spoken English as role involves communication with cross site groups in US and China.Additional InformationWestern Digital thrives on the power and potential of diversity.
