Summary You will serve as a Postal Operations Specialist (OMM) of NAVSUP FLC SD GF. Responsibilities You will responsible for official mail program oversite and providing ashore postal advisory and inspection services. You will perform various commands to analyze and determine requirements; establishing a mail management program and attendant procedures at serviced commands; ensuring that postal regulations and laws are complied with You will provide technical direction to tenant activities on postal operations and mail service programs You will perform cost/ benefit analysis and develops plans for installation /implementation of new postal equipment, systems, and procedures You will be responsible ensuring that all operations comply with mail (USPS, FEDEX, UPS, DHL and other premium carriers) procedures and inter-office correspondence. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing technical, analytical and Postal Operations work that demonstrates a knowledge of mail management and postal operations in order to insure efficient operation of the organization. I have experience analyzing mail practices, reviewing orders, and determining the extent of entitlements and eligibility for the shipment, storage options, shipments under various types of orders. I also have experience evaluating Transportation Service Provider responsibilities (TSP), Household Goods (HHG) claims/procedures and other information relevant to the shipment and storage of personal property. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Analyze and track workload (volume/ type of mail), current mail handling procedures, and cost of operations; 2) Performs a variety of postal duties including acceptance, screening, sorting, and distributing incoming mail (USPS, FEDEX, UPS, DHL and other premium carriers); 3) Assures that appropriate and correct mail handling procedures are practiced. and 4) Conduct cost/ benefit analysis and develops plans for installation /implementation of new postal equipment, systems, and procedures Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management web site: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=List-by-Occupational-Series Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
