Postdoctoral Appointee – Mechanical Engineering
Argonne National Laboratory
The Applied Materials Division at Argonne National Laboratory has an immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Appointee. The successful candidate will be engaged in programs that require expertise in structural materials (both metals and ceramics), computational solid mechanics, and thermohydraulics. The successful candidate will develop automated frameworks for finite element analysis of high temperature, concentrating solar power components and contribute to other projects involving thermal energy storage and high temperature nuclear reactors. Working collaboratively with Argonne staff, the successful candidate will advance methods for predicting the reliability of high-temperature components. The successful candidate will also contribute to technical reports, conference papers, and journal publications, and present findings at technical conferences.
Onsite presence is required.
