Postdoctoral Appointee - X-ray Diffraction & Photoluminescence Spectroscopy to study in-situ Qubit performance
We are seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral candidate to conduct cutting-edge research on the structural response of Sn-Vacancy qubits under uniaxial strain. This project aims to explore and understand the underlying reasons for enhanced temperature resilience of operational qubits, which have demonstrated increased spin-time coherence lengths at elevated temperatures, from 1.7K to ~4K with 0.1% applied strain. The research will combine synchrotron X-ray scattering (both diffraction and fluorescence) with photoluminescence spectroscopy to measure strain induced enhanced qubit performance. The successful candidate will both contribute to advancing our understanding of structure related qubit behavior under variable strain conditions for quantum information science applications and developing a dedicated in-situ cryostat focused on combining synchrotron x-ray scattering with photoluminescence spectroscopy.
