Posting Description
POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, Civil and Environmental Engineering-Einstein Rock Mechanics Group, to join a group studying fundamental rock behavior and engineering applications involving analytical and experimental aspects. Will work mostly on the experimental side mentoring graduate students and using approaches such as Raman spectroscopy, SEM/EDS, macro/micro/nanomechanical testing, and electrical property determination. Lab management will also be required, including interacting with industry sponsors in a variety of ways (webinars, seminars, talks, etc.), developing links with other groups at MIT working in materials science and analytical and experimental electrochemistry, interfacing with other rock mechanics groups in a shared working environment and in group meetings, and interfacing with the greater rock mechanics communities.
