In collaboration with the Stanley Center for Psychiatric Research at the Broad Institute, this individual will work on leveraging technology developed in the Bathe lab to study the molecular etiology of neurodevelopmental and psychiatric disorders and the mechanisms of psychoactive therapeutics and develop tools to extract new information modalities at the single-synapse resolution. The project aims to interrogate cellular models from human patient cell lines to reveal molecular mechanisms of perturbed cognition that will enable psychiatric drug discovery and understanding of cognitive disorders. Job Requirements REQUIRED: PhD in Neuroscience/neurobiology, Neuroengineering, Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related field; project and data management skills, including open science practices; demonstrated rigor in experimental design and data analysis; experience with confocal microscopy and quantitative image analysis, antibody and oligonucleotide conjugation chemistry, high-dimensional data analysis and machine learning, and design and implementation of high-content, high-throughput cellular screens; and proven record of work products and publications. PREFERRED: Interest in cellular and molecular neuroscience, stem cell research, particularly stem cell-derived neurons, Genetics and molecular biology of autism, schizophrenia, or other brain disorders.
