Postdoctoral Associate

The Alliance to Advance Climate-Smart Agriculture was founded to encourage sustainable agricultural productivity that helps achieve global climate goals. The Alliance seeks to help producers – particularly those that have been historically underserved – implement economically viable and environmentally sound practices. Assistantship support is available for a postdoctoral associate in the School of Plant and Environmental Sciences at Virginia Tech, with start dates possible in Fall 2024 or Spring 2025. The postdoctoral associate will work with state implementers, farmers, and other partners to evaluate efficacy of cover cropping and grazing on overall soil health and greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction potentials. The postdoctoral associate will work to analyze GHG emissions resulting from various best management strategies, precision agriculture, and other technologies by combining in-field measurements and modeling.
