The Postdoctoral Associate position for the Compassionate STEM Education (Compassionate STEM) Project in the Department of Engineering Education, The Compassionate STEM project aims to foster a culture of compassion in
STEM education, by establishing a dedicated community of faculty committed to systematically creating a compassionate learning environment and integrating compassion into undergraduate STEM curricula through engaged pedagogical approaches. This position will involve the following activities: (1) designing, facilitating, and implementing curriculum and instructional strategies for workshops and other professional development activities for faculty from various institutions; (2) collecting, analyzing, and disseminating data to assess the impact of the project on participating faculty and their students; (3) coordinating collaboration with team members from other institutions; (4) preparing annual reports to be shared with the funder; and (5) providing mentorship to graduate and undergraduate research assistants in this project. The position reports to the Director of the LANCSET (Laboratory and Network for the Cultural Studies of Engineering and Technology) research group and will also support the Director in preparing extramural grant proposals to sustain and expand the project. This position will also work regularly with other team members of the Compassionate STEM project.
