Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate within the Radiation Cancer Biology at the Rutgers Cancer Institute.
The primary purpose of the Postdoctoral Associate position is to conduct independent laboratory research under the direction of the Principal Investigator. The research interest of the Montagna lab is to conduct cancer research affecting a variety of tissues to analyze experiments relative to the understanding of molecular mechanisms of tumor initiation and progression. The Montagna Lab at Rutgers Cancer Institute leverages multiple experimental approaches. Including single-cell genomics by next-generation sequencing, in situ single-cell analyses of DNA and RNA by Fluorescent in situ Hybridization (FISH), and CRISPR gene editing to induce genomic instability and study its consequences on tumor transformation and therapy response. The candidate will have the opportunity to join a highly translational laboratory that seeks to identify underlying mechanisms of tumorigenesis and translate these findings into improved personalized therapeutic strategies for treating breast and cervical cancer.
Among the key duties for this position are the following:
Works under the direction of the principal investigator (PI). Assists the PI and study staff on all ongoing research that carries out various experimental and bioinformatics studies in cancer research to analyze experiments relative to understanding how genomic instability promotes tumorigenesis. Aids the study PI with preparing, cleaning, analyzing data, and preparing manuscripts, reports, and presentations. Performs numerous experimental approaches, including single-cell genomics by next-generation sequencing, in situ single-cell analyses of DNA and RNA, and CRISPR gene editing to induce genomic instability and study its consequences on tumor initiation, progression, and therapy response. Prepares written reports of research experiments. Position Status Full Time Hours Per Week Daily Work Shift Work Arrangement This position requires a fully on-site work arrangement.
