Under the direction of the PI, the Postdoctoral Fellow will study the molecular mechanisms of neurodegeneration in genetic forms of Parkinsons disease (PD). The individual will also contribute his/her time towards writing manuscripts and review articles that directly result from his/her research.

Among the key duties of the position are the following: Participates in experimental design and carries out experiments including cell culture (various primary cells as well as immortalized cell lines), high resolution fluorescence imaging and image analysis, biochemical as well as molecular biology approaches. Performs perfusion, cryosectioning, immunocytochemistry approaches, stereological counting and Matlabbased automated image analysis. Operates and maintains experimental equipment; assists in writing protocols for IRB and IACUC. Genotypes distinct knockin and knockout animal model systems. Records, quantifies and analyzes data from experiments. Assists Principal Investigator in data processing.
