JOB DESCRIPTION:
The postdoctoral fellow will conduct, report and present research in his/her field of study under the supervision of a faculty mentor. This is a training position, and is not expected to be a permanent position.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Will work on the continuation of NIH funded projects in Dr. Kayed's lab. Will test leading small molecules that are effective against toxic tau oligomer in primary neuronal culture and animal models for Alzheimer's disease Will also test molecules for their potential as imaging reagents in animal human tissues Prepares the figures and writ up the results for publication
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
PhD, MD or Doctoral equivalent in any field. Scientific research experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Mouse surgical procedure Production of recombinant proteins Previous research experience with tau oligomers
SALARY:
Commensurate with experience.
