Postdoctoral Fellow - Molecular & Cellular Oncology
The focus of the program is to explore novel strategies for immunoprevention of estrogen receptor-negative (ER-) breast cancer. Based on our previous and recent studies, we hypothesize that vitamin E administration, via reinforcing dendritic activation and antigen presentation, can enhance immunoprevention of ER- breast cancer by cancer vaccines. The postdoc will test novel strategies, including vitamin E administration via local and/or systemic delivery, combined with cancer vaccines to improve immunoprevention in ER- breast cancer mouse models. **LEARNING OBJECTIVES** • Will perform research projects related to breast cancer immunoprevention and early intervention strategies. • Gain hands-on experience in tumor immunology and early stage breast cancer research. • Learn to decipher molecular and cellular mechanisms that are critical for inducing potent immune responses against early-stage breast cancer. • Explore mechanisms of biochemical reactions using multidiscipline approaches, i.e. gene ablation, and pharmacological inhibition. • Access to and training in cutting-edge technologies, i.e. single cell gene expression profiling • Work toward becoming an independent researcher. • Publish impactful research in decent scientific journals and help generate preliminary data for grant applications. **ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS** PhD in one of the natural sciences or related field or medical degree. **POSITION INFORMATION** MD Anderson offers full-time postdoc positions with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000 (https://trainees.mdanderson.org/apply/mdaPostdoctoralFellowStipendFY24.pdf) . depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience.
