Postdoctoral Fellow - Molecular & Cellular Oncology (Naora Lab)
A position is available for a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Honami Naora in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Oncology. Research in the Naora Laboratory is directed to investigating tumor-host interactions and the mechanisms of metastatic organotropism, with a focus on peritoneal metastasis. Our laboratory is especially interested in understanding immune and non-immune cell dynamics in formation of the pre-metastatic niche (Lee et al, 2019, Journal of Experimental Medicine; Akasaka et al, 2023, JCI Insight; Lee et al, 2025, Cancer Cell). **LEARNING OBJECTIVES** • Conduct innovative and rigorous research projects that advance our understanding of the tumor microenvironment, metastasis, and host responses and address unmet clinical needs. • Develop conceptual skills to 'think outside the box' to address fundamental biological and biomedical questions. • Develop research ability, proficiency in grantsmanship, and other necessary professional skills to establish a career as an independent cancer researcher after completion of training. **ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS** • Ph.D. in cell biology, cancer biology, immunology, molecular biology, or related fields. • Experience with mouse models. Experience in flow cytometry is also highly advantageous. • Publications in peer-reviewed journals. • Strong organizational skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills. • Enthusiasm for research, scientific curiosity, and ability to engage in independent thinking. **POSITION INFORMATION** MD Anderson offers full-time postdoc positions with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000 (https://trainees.mdanderson.org/apply/mdaPostdoctoralFellowStipendFY24.pdf) . depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience.
