**JOB DESCRIPTION** **Appointment Term (and whether reappointment is possible)-** **1 Year (This appointment is** **renewable based on performance and funding.)** **Starting date- November 1st, 2024 to October 31st , 2025** **Location of appointment- 1470 Madison Ave, Room 201, NY, NY, 10029** **Lab:** **https://labs.neuroscience.mssm.edu/project/hurd-lab/** **Department:** **https://icahn.mssm.edu/about/departments/psychiatry** **Wages or salary; and benefits-** **$73,588** **Procedures regarding the application and reapplication process** **Hiring criteria, including but not limited to eligibility requirements, letters of** **recommendation, previous relevant experience, and any evaluation** **procedures-** **At least 3 years experience in behavioral neuroscience with knowledge of rodent behavioral models.** **Postdoctoral Fellow** Post-doctoral fellowship position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Yasmin Hurd at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City focused on studying the developmental effects of cannabis/cannabinoids on behavior and neurobiological processes. Candidates should have strong behavioral skills working with preclinical developmental behavioral models. Experience in in vivo viral manipulations, chemogenetic behavioral strategies, biochemistry assays and molecular methodologies is helpful. Knowledge of studying high throughput molecular strategies is also beneficial, but not required. Strong experimental and theoretical skills are important as well as good organizational, writing and communicative skills. **RESPONSIBILITIES** Candidate will be responsible for conducting behavioral and molecular studies in rodent animal models of developmental cannabis/cannabinoid exposure. This work can involve rodent vapor delivery paradigm and general rodent behavioral models (e.g., locomotor activity, social interaction, forced swim test). In addition, their work will entail stereotaxic surgery, in vivo fiber photometry, biochemical assays, pPCR, RNA-sequencing as well as bioinformatic analysis of high throughput transcriptomic and epigenomic datasets.
