**Job Summary:**
_Control of Inflammatory Acidity in Mucosal Inflammation"._
_Key Responsibilities:_
+ _designing, planning, and executing experiments to better understand how changes in tissue metabolism influence inflammation within the mucosa, including, but not limited to, models of inflammatory bowel disease._
+ _utilizing specialized knowledge and sophisticated research techniques examining inflammation-related signaling by intestinal epithelial cells, with a focus on the influence of microbial-derived metabolites, esp. indoles and short chain fatty acids._
+ _implementation of schedule methodology, timeline and lab book_
+ _collecting, recording, analyzing, and presenting data_
+ _preparation of project reports and manuscripts for publication_
+ _meeting with the project Principal Investigators (Ian M. Cartwright and Sean P. Colgan, PhD) on a daily to weekly basis for the purpose of progress updates and mentoring_

**_Minimum Qualifications:_**

+ _Graduation from a college or university with a PhD and/or MD in a related field of medicine_
+ _Record of published manuscripts and at least one publication in a peer-reviewed journal_

_$55,000 to $57,000_
