Job Title Postdoctoral Research Associate Agency Texas A&M Agrilife Research Department Biochemistry & Biophysics Proposed Minimum Salary Commensurate Job Location College Station, Texas Job Type Staff Job Description Genetic Analysis of Lipid Asymmetry and Membrane Dynamics The laboratory of Dr. Ann Wehman in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, USA is recruiting a postdoctoral fellow to help create the first phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) sensor. We predict this will be a transformative innovation that will contribute to many scientific fields. The Wehman lab uses genetic and imaging approaches to determine the molecular mechanisms of extracellular vesicle budding. We discovered that regulators of lipid asymmetry also regulate outward budding of the plasma membrane to form extracellular vesicles (EV), specifically regulators of phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) asymmetry (see Wehman et al., Curr Biol 2011, Beer et al., PNAS 2018).
