Job Title Postdoctoral Research Associate Agency Texas A&M Agrilife Research Department Horticultural Sciences Proposed Minimum Salary Commensurate Job Location College Station, Texas Job Type Staff Job Description Position Overview: Leads research on the physiology of horticultural crops, with a primary focus on grapevines. This role is part of an innovative program aimed at improving crop resilience to extreme climatic conditions and promoting sustainable horticultural practices. Essential Functions of the Job: + Phenotypical/Physiological Trait Quantification: Utilizing the latest technologies to quantify traits of interest in greenhouse and field settings. + Experimental Design: Preparing experimental designs for greenhouse and field trials throughout Texas. + Sample Collection: Collecting soil, root, leaf, and fruit samples for laboratory analysis. + Data Analysis and Publication: Analyzing, interpreting, and preparing data results. Writing peer-reviewed papers summarizing research progress. + Collaboration: Attending meetings, collaborating with laboratory associates, stakeholders, and data scientists, both in-state and out-of-state. + Research Presentation: Presenting research progress at professional conferences. + Supervision: Supervising students and lab technicians as needed. + Research Assistance: Assisting with research projects, including greenhouse and laboratory experiments, data collection, and presentations to scientific and grower communities. + Other duties as required. Required Education and Experience: Ph.D. in Horticultural Sciences or a related discipline closely related to Plant Sciences and Plant Physiology. Required knowledge, skills and abilities: Good computer and communication skills Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others. All positions are security-sensitive.
