This position will also develop and perform their own experiment projects at the Cyclotron Institute and other laboratories. What You Need to Know Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected candidate's education and experience. Special Note: Because all or a portion of your salary may be funded by grants or contracts, your continuing salary and overall employment is contingent upon availability of these funds in the future Required Education and Experience: + Appropriate PhD + No experience is required Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: + Ability to cultivate and maintain professional working relationships Preferred Education and Experience: + PhD in nuclear physics + Experience running and analyzing beam-based nuclear physics experiments + Experience with magnetic spectrometer and high-puritv germanium detectors (and other gamma-ray detectors) + Experience working with graduate and undergraduate students + Willingness to take on advisory roles for graduate and undergraduate students Responsibilities: + Cyclotron Institute Experiments: Works on local experimental projects under the direction of the line manager. + Independent Experimental Projects: Develops and performs their own experimental projects at the Cyclotron Institute or other laboratories and performs other duties as assigned.
