Job Description
Job Duties
+ Conduct fungal fermentation ( Monascus) experiments to develop bioactive compounds.
+ Collaborate with industry partners in pharmaceutical and food R&D sectors.
+ Screen and characterize new probiotic strains for functional applications.
+ Perform microbiome analysis to support research objectives.
+ Develop and optimize microbial production of functional materials.
+ Operate and maintain analytical instruments, including HPLC and GC, for compound analysis.
+ Prepare research reports, presentations, and manuscripts for publication.
+ Mentor undergraduate/graduate students and contribute to a collaborative lab environment.
+ Other duties as assigned
Equipment Usage
+ Laboratory Equipment for Fermentation -Bioreactor/Fermenter -Incubators (e.g., for fungal and probiotic cultures)
+ Analytical Instruments -High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) -Gas Chromatography (GC)
+ Microbiological Tools -Autoclave -Laminar Flow Hood -Microscopes (for strain analysis -ELISA Machine
+ General Computing, Data Analysis, STAT analysis and Documentation -Computer
Required Education
+ Ph.D. in Food and Nutrition, Food Science and Technology, or a related field.
Preferred Experience
+ Experience with molecular analysis of gene expression, mouse/rodent colony management, Histochemistry
+ Prior industry experience in pharmaceutical or food R&D sectors.
Required Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ Good communication and computer skills
+ Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others
