Job Title Postdoctoral Research Associate Agency Texas A&M Agrilife Research Department Texas Water Resource Institute Proposed Minimum Salary Commensurate Job Location College Station, Texas Job Type Staff Job Description Key Responsibilities: + Conduct literature reviews and synthesize research findings related to the adoption of agricultural practices, urban water conservation, and landowner decision-making. + Develop and implement survey instruments, focus groups, and other data collection methods to assess public perceptions, barriers to adoption, and the needs of landowners in Texas. + Analyze quantitative and qualitative data from various sources, including surveys, interviews, and field observations. + Collaborate with team members to design, develop, and refine research hypotheses and methodologies. + Contribute to the writing of research papers, reports, and publications for peer-reviewed journals and other outlets. + Present research findings at academic conferences, workshops, and community meetings. + Mentor graduate and undergraduate students involved in related research projects, as necessary. + Maintain communication with stakeholders, including landowners, project PIs, project sponsors, and community organizations. + Engage in other research-related duties as required by the Principal Investigator. + Other duties as required. Required Education and Experience: + A Ph.D. in Agricultural Communications, Sociology, Economics, Environmental Science, Public Policy, or a related field, with a strong focus on research methods and interdisciplinary studies. Preferred Experience: + Experience in social science research, particularly in the areas of adoption of agricultural practices, land management, urban water conservation, or related topics. + Experience with rural or urban community engagement and outreach Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities: + Ability to work collaboratively within a research team and interact with various stakeholders. + Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with experience writing research papers, reports, and presenting findings to varied audiences. + Strong organizational skills. + Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others. + Ability to work independently and take initiative on research projects. Preferred Knowledge Skills and Abilities: + Familiarity with survey design, data collection techniques, and both qualitative and quantitative data analysis (e.g., statistical software such as R and SPSS). + Knowledge of the environmental challenges and land management issues specific to Texas. This position is funded from grant and/or contract funding which is renewed under the provisions of the grantor of the contract and is, therefore, contingent upon continuation of funding of these grants and/or contracts.
