Who we want
The Postdoctoral Research Associate is focused on data management and data analysis (qualitative and quantitative) for the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD). The post-doctorate fellow will work with the PI on report summaries and manuscripts based on the data collected. Responsibilities will include data collection, data analysis, and technical report writing as well as supporting PI on manuscript development and research of relevant literature.

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience

Schedule: This position may require up to 10% or more travel and may require work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends
Grant Funded: This position is funded from grant and/or contract funding, which is renewed through provisions of the grantor of the contract. Therefore, this position is contingent upon continuation of funding from these grants and/or contracts, as well as satisfactory job performance.
Qualifications
Required Education
+ Doctoral degree in Special Education or closely related field
Required Licenses and Certifications
+ Completed course work and certification in Advance Research Methods
+ Completed course work and certification in Applied Behavioral Analyses
Preferred Qualifications
+ 5 years of experience in special education research in school settings
+ Master’s degree in reading and language arts education
+ Doctorate degree with an emphasis on emergent literacy, behavioral classroom management, and tier support interventions, as well as socio-emotional development to support teachers’ classroom practices and curriculum
+ Certified or undergraduate degree in Business Administration
+ Counseling Training Certificate
+ At least three years of experience working in areas of special education and language learning.
+ Ph.D. in special education with a focus on interventions and mental health
+ Experience on curriculum development in special education to support classroom teachers’ assessment and support for all children
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Working knowledge of office software and instructional programs
+ Knowledge of principles and methods for teaching and instructing individuals and groups in school settings
+ Skilled in utilizing various learning and active listening strategies
+ Ability to orally comprehend and express information and use inductive and deductive reasoning
+ Ability to facilitate and adapt course and the course content for the development of instructional modules
+ Ability to positively and professionally interact with program participant and staff, groups of various sizes (e.g., partner non-profits).
Responsibilities
Direction and Supervision
+ Work closely with graduate students to achieve goals of the project
+ Participate in weekly staff zoom meetings to address project needs and upcoming activities
+ Present at local and national conferences research pertaining to the grant program
+ Collaborate on manuscript development and publication based on data collected from project
+ Support research on relevant literature to support development of new grant application for the continuation of the project goals and activities
+ Support the professional development of graduate students working in the grant project
Technical Reports and Database Management
+ Develop and prepare technical reports related to the grant program and for upcoming grant competitions
+ Manage databases for grant programs and develop district profiles
+ Monitor program activities and ensure adherence to program goals
+ Develop online modules to support teachers’ professional development in areas of special education and potential interventions
Strategies and Grant Analyses
+ Assists in developing and implementing research-based strategies to support program participants (e.g., parents, teachers, and students)
+ Conducts analyses to identify program impact and challenges as well as opportunities for current and future grants
Curriculum Support
+ Develop intervention and curriculum materials for students’ behavioral management (e.g., special education, ELs, etc.)
+ Develop resilience curriculum to support students’ academic success and college readiness
