Dr. Stacey Schultz-Cherry, Department of Host-Microbe Interactions, has an exciting new postdoc position available in her lab develop innovative new influenza vaccines for vulnerable populations, define mucosal immune responses resulting in reduced viral transmission, and assess the impact of obesity on epithelial responses to infection and vaccination including the role of metabolism. We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team. The applicant should have excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently and as part of collaborative research efforts. Responsibilities include: Assume primary responsibility for the development and oversight of research projects. This includes understanding the literature, designing and completing experiments, analyzing the data and sharing the information through presentations, manuscripts and grant applications. Working closely with and supervising trainees including graduate students. Participating and taking on leadership roles in group projects. Working closely with supervisors on projects and building new areas of research. Pursue opportunities to build collaboration A PhD is required. Applicants with hands on experience in Cell Biology, metabolism, human studies, virology, and immunology as well as working with and developing primary cell and in vivo models are encouraged to apply.
