The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute seeks a Post-Doctoral cancer biologist to conduct basic and translational cancer research in the Letai Lab’s Laboratory for Functional Precision medicine. In this position, you will exploit cutting edge technology to determine therapeutic vulnerabilities directly from patient tumor samples. This position contains translational, technological development, and basic aspects of research. The qualified candidate will conduct research in apply novel biomarkers to clinical trials as well as cancer biology hypothesis testing. The position is one that has potential for growth into a leadership position. There is opportunity for collaboration with oncologists at nearby hospitals and with scientists at the Laboratory for Systems Pharmacology at Harvard Medical School.

ResponsibilitiesProjects include:
Examining temporal changes in apoptotic signaling after drug contactRational assembly of drug combinationsInvestigation of molecular determinants of drug response and apoptotic signalingAssembly of SOPs for production of a clinical assaySupervision of junior scientists Qualifications A PhD in cell biology or comparable research experience.Interest in both translation and basic studies.Experience with microscopy – experience with automated imaging a plusExperience with patient samples a plus.Familiarity with R, other coding languages.Excellent written and oral communication in English is essential.Ability to effectively collaborate with individuals across a range of disciplines, including clinicians and scientists.
