Yes Duties and Responsibilities A postdoc position is available immediately in Dr. Zang’s lab at the Burn and Shock Trauma Research Institute in the Stritch School of Medicine at Loyola University Chicago. The research area of the laboratory is focused on mitochondrial signaling in cardiac dysfunction and cardiac autophagy in sepsis using both in vitro and in vivo models. The prospective candidate will have opportunities to work within a highly interactive, multidiscipline team to do translational research. Preferences will be given to candidates who are good at tasks and time management and strong communication skills. Minimum Education and/or Work Experience M.D. or PhD Required Qualifications A qualified candidate must hold a doctorate degree with a major in biology or the area of biomedical sciences. A combination of skills in cell culture, animal disease models, imaging, western blot, immunoprecipitation, ELISA, DNA/RNA preparation, PCR, and real time PCR is required. Previous experience/knowledge in animal experiments is very much preferred, and experience in the research of cardiology and mitochondrial physiology is a plus. In addition, capabilities to efficiently collect/organize/analyze data and to initiate new/modified procedures/techniques based upon latest developments are expected. Preferences will be given to candidates who are good at tasks and time management and strong communication skills.
