The OHSU Knight Cancer Institute, known as one of the pioneers in personalized cancer medicine, is an international leader in research and cancer treatment. Driven by its mission to end cancer as we know it, the institute is building upon its expertise in targeted treatments to advance the early detection of cancer when the disease is most treatable.

 

An exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research position in the field of immunology is available in Dr. Joshua Moreau’s laboratory at Oregon Health & Science University’s Knight Cancer Institute. Dr. Moreau’s research program explores the biology of tissue-resident lymphocytes and how these cells contribute to the pathogenesis of cancer and inflammatory skin disease. The successful applicant will lead grant-funded projects to investigate the immunobiology of B cells and their role in skin disease. This work will combine in vivo transgenic mouse models with ex vivo human tissue experiments. Significant support for computational analysis of spatial and scRNA-sequencing data is available in the Moreau Lab as well as the collaborative and interdisciplinary environment of the Knight Cancer Center.

Education & experience:

D., M.D./Ph.D., or Ph.D.Specialty: Immunology, Cell Biology, Dermatology, Computational Biology, or other relevant backgroundNo more than 1 year of prior postdoc experience

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

 Experience in immunology assays, cell culture, flow cytometry, in vivo experimentsExcellent communication, analytical and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a team while being collaborative in resolving problemsPassion for science and inquiryAbility to synthesize one’s own results and others to formulate hypothesesAbility to prioritize multiple tasks at one timeMust possess energy and drive to coordinate multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to use tact and diplomacy to maintain effective working relationships Preferred Qualifications At least one published or in revision 1st author manuscript in a peer-reviewed English language journalExperience with single cell RNA-sequencing, Spatial transcriptomicsExperience with computational analysis tools Additional Details
