Job Description:

The Technological Interventions for Ecological Systems (TIES) Lab at the University of Texas at Austin is seeking an in-person, full-time research-focused postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Psychology to work with incoming Assistant Professor Dr. Adela Timmons. Research in the TIES Lab focuses on big data analytic and pervasive computing methods for building adaptive and responsive mental health interventions with the goal of increasing the reach and impact of mental health care. A special focus of TIES lab applications includes collecting data on couples and families from historically under-resourced and under-served backgrounds and investigating the impact of stress and adversity on family processes and child development. Another focus of the lab relates to addressing health disparities, especially AI ethics and bias in AI models. The interdisciplinary TIES lab team, consisting of clinical psychologists, data scientists, software developers, and engineers at UT Austin and other universities across the county, is currently building a comprehensive web app and mobile app data collection tool, developing machine learning algorithms to sense psychological states in daily life, and sending iterative micro-experimental mental health interventions via smartphones and wearable devices.
