Principal Investigator, Costas Anastassiou, PhD, is seeking a Postdoctoral Scientist to join the team!

The Anastassiou Laboratory is affiliated with the Department of Neurosurgery and Neurology, the Center of Neural Sciences and Medicine and the Regenerative Medicine Institute. The lab team studies how the molecular and cellular composition of neurons translates to their phenotype and how these properties combine in brain circuits to produce function or, in the case of disease, dysfunction.

In this role, you will be working independently but in close cooperation and in consultation on the team of Costas Anastassiou, PhD. You will perform routine and complex laboratory procedures throughout training period. You may develop, adapt, and implement new research techniques and protocols. This role is not be responsible for generating grant funds.

Additionally, you will be a crucial team member in our ongoing effort to understand human brain function spanning across spatiotemporal scales. The core responsibility for this position is to set-up computational simulations and data analysis workflows from slice and in vivo brain physiology in humans.

More specifically, the incumbent will be responsible for:

Designing and conducting biophysical simulations with an existing computational framework allowing simulation of reconstructed, interconnected and biophysically realistic human neurons.Analyzing simulated and experimental data using state-of-the-art statistical analyses to establish structure-function relationships.
