Postdotoral Fellow - Genetics - McAllister Lab
The McAllister lab aims to provide fellows with a comprehensive understanding of microbes in tumor development, progression and response to therapies. Goals include gaining insights into cancer models and treatment procedures, enhancing familiarity with microbiome and immune profiling protocols and techniques, and developing professional relationships with other team members. Additionally, participants often seek to improve their research skills, understand the nuances of microbiome-related experiments, and explore the practical applications of microbial knowledge in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma and other cancer types. **LEARNING OBJECTIVES** As a postdoc, you will: • Gain expertise in microbes in tumor development, progression, and response to therapies. Gain insights into cancer models and treatment procedures, enhancing familiarity with microbiome and immune profiling protocols and techniques. • Lead your project and collaborate with internal and external teams. • Present findings at lab meetings, seminars, and conferences. • Publish your research in peer-reviewed journals. **ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS** • Recent Ph.D. in cancer biology or related field with lead-author publications. • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently in a team. • Candidates pursuing an independent career path are preferred. **POSITION INFORMATION** MD Anderson offers full-time postdoc positions with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000 (https://trainees.mdanderson.org/apply/mdaPostdoctoralFellowStipendFY24.pdf) . depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience.
