PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA)
No C2C (Must work W2) Must be willing to work a hybrid schedule onsite 3 days a week in Plano, TX About the Role: We are seeking an experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in architecting large-scale production database platforms and managing PostgreSQL environments. This role requires a proactive individual who can ensure the reliability, performance, and security of our database systems. Key Responsibilities: + Architect and manage a large-scale production database platform. + Configure and manage PostgreSQL production and contingency replication features. + Maintain and support PostgreSQL HA clustered environments. + Perform failover, migration, and data restores in a HA environment. + Support database patching and provide continuous application support. + Handle crontabs and data backups using pgBackRest. + Manage Kubernetes/OpenShift clusters for PostgreSQL. + Create and maintain documentation, troubleshooting playbooks, and test failover and recovery plans. + Perform regular database maintenance tasks. + Write and maintain Ansible playbooks. + Monitor database performance and ensure optimum performance. + Identify and resolve potential database issues early. + Maintain backups and perform disaster recovery. + Monitor security and prevent unauthorized access to the database. + Schedule consistent maintenance on the server. + Maintain database schema and manage database availability. + Provide best practice guidance to the development team. + Resolve production data issues. + Manage tablespace and role management. + Ensure data integrity and maintain the database using various utilities. Required Skills & Experience: + Experience architecting a large-scale production database platform. + Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL production and contingency replication features and configuration. + Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL HA clustered environments. + Hands-on experience with failover, migration, and data restores in a HA environment. + Experience with database patching and continuous application support. + Proficient in handling crontabs and data backups using pgBackRest. + Proficient in managing Kubernetes/OpenShift clusters for PostgreSQL. + Experience creating and maintaining documentation, troubleshooting playbooks, and testing failover and recovery plans. + Ability to write Ansible playbooks. + PostgreSQL DBA experience in a 24x7 production environment. + Experience configuring, managing, and troubleshooting PostgreSQL on Linux. + Experience with database backup and recovery, including disaster recovery standards. + Experience with database design, optimization, and tuning. + Experience implementing database security concepts, including access, auditing, and encryption. + Ability to create database objects such as triggers and indexes. + Strong shell scripting skills. + Experience with DB replication. + Strong SME in Unix System Administration. • Expertise in Unix systems. • Experience in artifact repositories, dependency management and compliance engines to scan artifacts in Artifactory for vulnerabilities and policy violations. • Strong understanding of CICD pipeline. • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation. Experience Level Entry Level Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $67.00/hr.
