They are a team of experienced cybersecurity professionals with a track record of success in the Federal, Commercial, and Academic workspaces. Additionally, our client designs, builds, operates, and secures scalable cloud and IT infrastructures to meet their customers’ near-term needs and fulfill their long-term requirements.

 

Responsibilities

Our client is seeking a PostgreSQL Developer to support a high-impact, large-scale migration project from on-premises to a cloud-based infrastructure. This role involves database development - writing Postgres procedures/functions, particularly as part of a migration from Oracle to Postgres. Someone with the expertise to drive and deliver the DB code development.

 

Requirements

Active Secret ClearanceMinimum of 5 years in database administration, including managing, monitoring, and optimizing databasesProficient with multiple database management systems, particularly Oracle and PostgreSQLExperience working with cloud-based databases, ideally within AWS RDS environmentsSkilled in database automation and scripting to streamline processesStrong understanding of database design principles, including E-R diagramming, data normalization, and data structure optimizationProficient in SQL, with hands-on experience in query tuning, indexing, and overall query performance optimizationIn-depth knowledge of database security practices, including authentication, authorization, encryption, and access controlExperience in backup and recovery processes and performance monitoring to ensure data integrity and accessibilityFamiliarity with data migration, ETL processes, and data warehousing for smooth integration across systemsThe ideal candidate will be based in the Northern Virginia/Washington DC area

Clearance Requirements

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; an active Secret clearance is required; but our client can hold up to a Top Secret Clearance if applicable. Please be aware that onboarding can take 4-6 weeks for this position.
