Faculty Appointment Type Tenure Track Term (if applicable) 9 month Begin Date of Appointment 08/18/2025 Exempt/Non-Exempt Exempt General Function The Assistant Professor is a member of the ranked faculty with an intermediate academic rank who has demonstrated achievement in the areas of teaching, research, and professional service appropriate to the discipline. The Assistant Professor’s teaching responsibilities are assigned by the academic department head and may include serving as an academic advisor. The Assistant Professor engages in scholarly activities beyond those associated with teaching and is expected to demonstrate professional productivity in research, based upon the availability of resources and consistent with the mission of the University. Description of Primary Duties The successful candidate will primarily teach graduate-level courses in Health Administration; secondary teaching assignments may be at the undergraduate or graduate level in management-related classes (e.g., Principles of management). The standard teaching load is 9 hours per semester (three courses). Candidates must satisfy AACSB requirements to achieve and/or maintain Scholarly Academic status, must maintain an active research agenda, support the success of the Masters in Health Administration program, and meet university service requirements. Minimum Acceptable Qualifications The minimum acceptable qualifications for the position of Assistant Professor are prescribed in the Faculty Handbook. Additional Qualifications Successful candidates will hold a Ph.D. in Management or Business Administration from an AACSB -accredited institution with an emphasis on health administration or a related field. Candidates with a Ph.D in Health Policy, Administration, Leadership, or Management from an accredited institution (e.g., AACSB , CAHME , or similar/equivalent) will also be considered. Candidates who are ABD at the time of application will also be considered if in a position to complete their degree no later than the start date. Candidates must be able to publish in peer-reviewed management or health administration journals, must have experience teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels, and must satisfy AACSB requirements to achieve and/or maintain Scholarly Academic status.
