What You Can Expect
As the Power Congestion Analytics and System Planning Manager, you will focus on identifying system obstructions and implementing proactive solutions to enhance asset performance. You will leverage your knowledge of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s (FERC) role in transmission planning and development, as well as your expertise in electric utilities, independent system operators (ISO), and regional transmission organizations (RTO). Your responsibilities will include producing cost models, transmission plans, and other analyses that impact organized power markets.
The individual will be responsible for:
Performing electric system planning studies based on congestion analysis and develop solutions to address identified constraints Propose solutions ranging from traditional transmission projects to more novel technologies including grid enhancing technologies and battery energy solutions Perform scenario modeling in production cost software and perform benefits analysis based on ISO/RTO calculation methodologies Reviewing published load forecasts and transmission development plans You will be required to develop proposals and presenting to internal and external stakeholders for adoptions or approval
What You’ll Bring
Minimum Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Business or a related fields where you have extensive education in resolution based data analysis, congestion analysis, quantitative methodology and quantitative modeling. Minimum 7 years’ experience in production cost modeling and/or power flow analysis Familiar with simulation systems such as PLEXOS, PROMOD, Aurora, GridView or other similar platform Experience and knowledge on how to interpret First Contingency Incremental Transfer Capability (FCITC) results Experience with developing scripts and automation routines to facilitate analytics Knowledge of organized United States power markets and experience with utilities and/or ISO/RTOs Understanding and experience with grid enhancing technologies

Compensation
Salary Range: $113,900 – $174,570 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
