POWER Engineers, Inc., a multi-national consulting firm of over 3000 employees, is seeking a Senior Project Manager with experience in transmission and distribution projects for our Power Delivery Project Management team. POWER is expanding our capabilities in order to keep pace with our customers’ growing and evolving needs, which presents an excellent opportunity for a self-starter looking for an exciting career change. This position is posted in Overland Park (metro Kansas City) with the potential to work remotely from a mutually acceptable CONUS location (please note in the application questions where you prefer to be located). The candidate selected for this position may work remotely full-time at a location other than a POWER-designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a POWER office for periodic meetings.
Roles and ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for managing technical and financial aspects of Power Delivery projects, managing and developing client relationships, and marketing POWER's Power Delivery services to existing and new clients. Specific responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
Promote company culture and manage internal and external relationships Manage status reporting, invoicing, accounts receivable and unbilled for each project in your portfolio Collaborate with project design teams Provide leadership and mentoring to project teams Develop & maintain schedules, lead/participate in project status meetings with project teams and clients, oversee budgets, participate in proposal preparation, and take a leading role in building and maintaining client relationships Work primarily with Power Delivery, but may also interface with other divisions within POWER, based on the nature of any particular project Travel to client and Company locations periodically Demonstrated Project Management skills should include CPM scheduling, budget, and cost analysis, managing project teams, as well as proposal writing, client relationship development, and project presentations. Required Education/Experience Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University required-engineering, engineering management, or construction management discipline OR 10+ years of professional experience in the electric power and communications industry. Minimum of 15 years of applicable industry experience. Minimum of 10 years of relevant project management experience. Familiarity with US investor-owned, cooperative, and municipal electric utilities. Professional Engineering registration or PMP certification, with preference to candidates who hold both. Relevant experience includes project management and/or lead engineer experience on small- to-medium-scale Transmission and Distribution projects. Knowledge and experience with project management processes and tools. Understanding of the planning, design and operation of transmission and distribution systems and facilities. Proficiency with financial analysis tools in a utility and/or consulting setting. Experience in project controls.At POWER Engineers, you can have a rewarding career on every level.
