Chemours is seeking a Power Distribution and Instrument Engineer to join our growing Belle Site team. This position will be available at our Belle, WV location and report directly to the Manufacturing Technology Manager.
This position provides Electrical and Instrumentation expertise to support site manufacturing operations and ensures safety, reliability, capability, and productivity of the facilities. Will participate in commissioning, startups, and troubleshooting and provide off-hours technical assistance.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Administers existing power distribution system, reliability, equipment integrity and project designs of plant High and Medium voltage thru maintenance and project activities and support groups.
Performs Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and incident investigations on electrical equipment such as substations, transformers, switchgear, Medium Voltage Motors/Adjustable Speed Drives to prevent re-occurrences and improve systems.
Leads Electrical Safety programs and collaborates with other company electrical safety teams.
Provides liaison role with energy provider (AEP), site customers and tenants for power system issues and coordination.
Proactively identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving issues to support and improve efficiency of the manufacturing facilities
Administrates Arc Flash studies and program and reviews and develops electrical switching procedures.
Work with plant operational teams to facilitate continuous improvement efforts related to electrical and instrumentation performance
Implementation of detailed projects covering Electrical and Instrumentation aspects of manufacturing
Develop preventive and predictive programs for Electrical and Instrumentation scope
Participate in project teams and all activities related to Electrical and Instrumentation technical support and documentation
Design and development of operations protocols, processing equipment installations and plant upgrades related to Electrical and Instrumentation installation
To lead and implement all Chemours standard/policy related to Electrical and Instrumentation installations and maintenance
The following is required for this role:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
5 to 10+ years of professional electrical and instrumentation engineering experience in a Chemical manufacturing environment
Hands-on experience with plant electrical and instrumentation equipment maintenance and troubleshooting:
Motors, motor control centers, variable frequency drives, soft-starters, etc.
Flow, pressure, temperature, level, etc. meters/systems
Control valves and controllers
Distributed Control Systems and/or Programmable Logic Controller operation and programming
Safety Interlock System design, testing and troubleshooting
Meaningful values on safety awareness, implementation, and improvement
Proficient in typical business software such as Microsoft Office, etc. Thorough communication skills, verbal and written.
The following is preferred for this role:
Understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM) methodologies.
Knowledgeable of appropriate codes and standards such as OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and recognized and generally accepted good engineering practices (RAGAGEPs)& controls
Demonstrated leadership skills with good written and oral communication skills and abilities.
Good interpersonal skills to allow productive collaborative relationships with inside customers, vendors, operations, site tenants, mechanical and technical personnel; track record of fostering a respectful work environment
Capital Project planning and execution experience.
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Experience with Process Simulation (Aspen or similar) and Data Historian (IP21 or similar) software
Experience with Honeywell (Experion and TDC3000), Allen Bradley (Control Logix), and Modicon (Quantum and 984)
Experience with Aspen InfoPlus 21 and Aspen Watch
Demonstrated knowledge of Alarm Management
