HDR is seeking a highly motivated Power Electrical Designer in our power generation electrical/control group. This individual will be a key member of HDR’s rapidly growing engineering team and will work under senior engineers to support the following:

In the role of Power Electrical Designer, we’ll count on you to:

Design tasks involving judgment in evaluating, selecting and applying engineering techniques and proceduresProduction of design drawings and construction documents through the use of computer aided design and other softwarePreparation of design calculations including voltage drop, cable sizing, grounding cable fill, ductbank and other electrical components.Preparation of specifications and contract documentsCoordination with other disciplines as necessaryWork closely with other project team members on multidiscipline projects

Preferred Qualifications

Working level skills in AutoCad and MicrostationBachelor's degree in engineering or technical disciplineExperience working in multi-disciplinary environmentsRequired Qualifications
Associate's degree in engineering or related field of study or equivalent work experienceA minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in the discipline to be supportedAptitude and demonstrated hands-on experience with computer applications specific to the discipline to be supportedKnowledge of industry standards specific to the discipline being supportedProficient with Microsoft OfficeGood verbal and written communication skillsAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
