A research engineer position working on design and layout of LV circuits, research and development of ASICs for traction inverter applications.
You'll have...
Master’s degree in electrical engineering or computer Science or related degree; or foreign equivalency degree, 3+ years of research/industry experience in fields of power electronics and LV circuit design (coursework, internships, Research and Co-ops Included) 3+ years of Experience in architectural design of ASIC chip for traction inverter gate drive applications (coursework, internships, Research and Co-ops Included) 3+ years of experience in digital and analog circuit design for gate drive applications, such as voltage and frequency sensing, system clock generation, and logic signals associated with gate drives (coursework, internships, Research and Co-ops Included) 3+ years of experience operating and upgrading power electronic test systems, to characterize static and dynamic losses of HV semiconductor devices (coursework, internships, Research and Co-ops Included)

PHD Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or related degree; or foreign equivalency degree EDA, RTL, FPGA, IC design flow and manufacturing, SPICE, Siemens IC portfolio (or similar) MATLAB, PLECS, Simplorer, SPICE, Fusion 360, Altium, KiCAD Adept with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, probes, network analyzer, HV power supplies. Basic knowledge in semiconductor classification and operation. Knowledge in high voltage systems and high temperature circuit design, to integrate filtering solutions with power semiconductor packaging. Understanding automotive applications and requirements. Experience in material and capital purchasing. Experience in project management tools. Self-motivated individual, with strong intrapersonal skills. Ability to lead technical projects with a team-oriented personality. Strong verbal and presentation skills to ensure effective communications with technical and management teams. Knowledge in testing semiconductor devices to characterize the static and dynamic characteristics. Expertise in high-speed time domain and digital signal acquisition and analysis.

What you'll do...
Research and design LV circuitry for gate drive applications for SiC MOSFET and Hybrid Si IGBT/SiC MOSFET. Lead the research and prototype development of next generation ASICs for traction inverter control and gate drive applications. Design and develop LV isolated converter power supply and LV power distribution ICs to support gate drive application. Research and prototyping of advanced PCB design and layout for integration with high power circuit. Expertise in gate drive circuit design, such as LDO, voltage regulators, isolators, Op-Amps, SPI. Effectively communicate results by writing technical reports, invention disclosures and present data to management. Monitor university and industry research on ICs and PCB supply and manufacturing. Interact with experts and meet requirements of power electronic and gate drive teams. Support activities related to LV sensors and current measurement in power converters
