Summary: The Second-Class Operating Power Engineer is responsible for supporting the operation and maintenance of the boiler and ammonia refrigeration system for the manufacturing facility.

 

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

Operation and maintenance of steam boilers and their auxiliary equipment.Operation and maintenance of an industrial ammonia refrigeration system.Responsible for lockouts of steam and ammonia pressure equipmentMaintains accurate records for logbooks & SPC data entries.Troubleshoot, operate, and maintain energy recovery systems that utilize reclaimed heat for process.Responsible for overseeing/supporting the operations of 3rd Class Operating Power Engineers in the adjoining facility.Completes maintenance work on steam, refrigeration, compressed air, and utility water equipment.Completes regular boiler and refrigeration water chemistry tests.Change air and oil filters on various pieces of equipment associated with the boiler and refrigeration operations.Must climb ladders and work at heights when working on several pieces of equipment.Required to lift up to 50 lbs alone and 75 to 85 lbs with assistance.In some areas will have to stoop, crawl, and work in awkward positions in order to service equipment.All other maintenance assigned tasks or functions as designated by Chief Engineer or Deputy Chief Engineer.

Physical Ability - Physically capable of safely performing the work (i.e. while working at heights lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, stooping etc.)Computer Aptitude - computer use as well as an understanding of associated software (i.e. SAP, Excel, Power Point).Flexible – Must be flexible with your schedule to support plant events and activities.  This position works a 4 on 4 off 12-hour shift, rotating nights and days.Must be capable of obtaining H2S Alive, Confined Space Entry & Forklift Operator certificates.Mechanical maintenance experience and ammonia refrigeration experience will be considered an asset.

 

Hourly Rate

$53.53
