About The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Power Grids Engineering Manager to join our team based in Bishopstoke, Southampton. You will manage, co-ordinate, direct and develop the provision of technical services to support the commercial and operational areas of the Utilities Business with a special focus on HV/EHV Systems. You will play a significant part in the delivery of the critical infrastructure for the energy transition.
Responsibilities
Managing the key functions of installation and system design inclusive of civil and structural design, hydraulic systems design and draught services.
Providing an efficient design service to meet customer requirements, at the minimum cost, compatible with maintaining industry engineering standards such as CDM and temporary work compliance.
Co-ordinating and managing the design processes to ensure that the demands of the business are met with regards to timescales and quality.
Providing technical assistance and advice to project managers, site managers, tendering team, engineers, internal functions generally speaking and operatives.
Identifying areas where development is required to maintain and enhance the technical reputation and commercial competitiveness of the business, and to initiate and carry out the work necessary to achieve this objective.
Continuous review of market developments and new products to ensure Prysmian are at the forefront with regards to developing technologies and maintain our position as a market leading HV cable supplier and installer.
Development and management of design tools for system design and installation
Qualifications & Requirements
Educated to degree level in a relevant Engineering subject and a member of an engineering professional institution.
Previous experience within an engineering background, ideally with a knowledge of cable systems however civil engineering would be considered.
Computer literate with a knowledge of AutoCad, databases and spreadsheets.
Demonstrate strong people management competencies.
