As part of HVAC Cooling, SPX Cooling Technologies is a leader in high quality industrial HVAC equipment used to cool large facilities like hospitals, data centers, and power plants.   With cooling towers, fans, and refrigeration units, companies rely on brands like Marley, Recold, and SGS to provide comfort and mission critical and industrial cooling solutions.

 

 

How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Power/Heavy Industrial Sales Leader you will oversee sales and key customer and channel management for Field Erected, Reconstruction, Recon and Parts product lines in the heavy industrial and power generation end markets.  The candidate must develop and maintain strong relationships with end users, service providers, contractors, EPC’s and local supply chain vendors. Furthermore, they should implement best practices in professional selling including effective pipeline management and transaction qualification and effective processes for the management of key accounts. They should lead efforts to improve the overall customer experience and make our offering more competitive in the market. They will manage the P/HI reps, track rep performance, and clearly communicate expectations for being a Marley rep and address any underperforming rep organizations.  The position will also manage the commercial operations of the Houston market to capture and increasing share of that important market.  This role is also responsible for fostering commercial growth through strong collaboration with the proposal management, project management, estimating, engineering and construction teams to ensure customers receive exceptional service throughout the sales process.

 

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

Lead commercial strategy and execution for Marley Parts & Service Develop and execute growth plans aimed at capturing addressable opportunities Review sales managers’ pipeline health, sales forecasts and account plans on a regular basis and prepare monthly forecasts Meet territory sales and margin goals Promote and maintain master sales/service agreements with key accounts Solicit and analyze customer feedback for product performance, overall service and value Provide direction and execution on prioritized continuous improvement on an ongoing basis Foster sales managers’ capabilities to establish strategic relationships to move vertically and horizontally within an account Develop and cultivate customer relationships by meeting with customers, conducting presentations, and discussing existing projects Ensure the speed of response across the value delivery cycle satisfies customers’ emergent needs Build and lead cross-functional relationships externally and internally to maximize sales across the territory Provide regular reporting on key metrics and projects Conduct executive level communication within both key accounts and SPX Play a key role in team and individual career development across all functions of the office

 

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

Required Experience

10+ years’ experience managing engineered-to-order sales required 5+ years of experience commercial leadership including managing teams required Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word Customer Focus Aligning Performance for Success Continuous Improvement Facilitating Change Building a Successful Team Building Trust Negotiation Skills/Conflict Resolution Effectiveness Planning and Organizing Coaching and Developing Others Communication Business Savvy / Vision / Gaining Commitment Professional selling

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of cooling tower equipment in process-related applications is strongly desired Capital equipment, aftermarket or distributor sales experience is helpful

 

Education & Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or related field required

 

Travel & Working Environment

Driver’s license and proof of insurance Willingness to travel at least 50 percent of the time with some overnight stays Office environment with varying degrees of noise levels May work outside and may be exposed to bad weather, heat, and/or excessive noise
