THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Power & Recovery Superintendent is responsible in providing day-to-day leadership for all department employees to improve safety, environmental compliance, quality, cost control, and production for the Power/Recover department. They are responsible for implementing and updating management and measurement systems to ensure continued improvement in power generation, water and waste handling, electrical generation and kraft cycle operations. 

 

 

HOW YOU WILL IMPACT WESTROCK:

Implement process improvement projects to optimize equipment and reduce downtime.Optimize recovery boiler operation and power generation to maximize pulp production and reduce downtime and costsCommunicate with other department managers to optimize mill productionPromote team concept with supervisors and operators to assure continuity in reaching common production goalsEncourage a behavior-based safety processReview environmental compliance measures dailyInitiate process improvement projects to eliminate emissions/releasesDevelop annual operating and maintenance budgets and review monthly actuals versus budgetMaintain asset management systems to improve equipment performance and reliabilityEnsure the training program for operators and foreman is current and appropriate training levels are metPromote ISO standards throughout department 

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

B.S. Engineering (Pulp & Paper or CHE) preferred, or a combination of education and experienceMinimum 5 years of demonstrated experience in Power & Recovery Minimum 3 years in a supervisory position
