Your Opportunity

The Engineer performs basic electrical technical and project management duties under the supervision of a Senior Project Engineer or Project Manager. Understands and identifies project requirements and performs independent technical work on basic tasks within one’s own discipline. Provides guidance to Designers on completion of duties. 

Your Key Responsibilities 

Perform power system studies including ground fault settings, short circuit, and simple protective device coordination. Perform engineering studies or portions of very complex studies including reliability, harmonics, arc-flash and reliability centered maintenance studies. Perform electrical power system documentation including system configuration, equipment ratings and settings. May perform circuit and system measurements and write reports relating to:  EMF, electrical load, voltage, and power quality. Prepare estimates and take-offs for engineering study project proposals. Review reports for technical content and accuracy. Perform Arc Flash studies which may include data collection, short-circuit coordination studies, arc flash evaluations, labeling, and training.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Possess basic knowledge of engineering practices within own discipline Knowledge of commonly used and accepted design and construction concepts, practices, procedures Able to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents and specifications, technical procedures, and government regulations. Proficient in applicable software (i.e. CAD and Revit) Exhibits strong communication skills to confidently interact and communicate scope and coordinate tasks with vendors and inter-discipline co-workers Displays effective organization and time management skills with projects, reports and other duties; effectively manages multiple priorities and is punctual and dependable 

Education and Experience

Accredited engineering degree or equivalent experience required P.E. license. Minimum 5 years’ experience performing electrical engineering analysis. Requires sound grounding and experience in electrical engineering principles and analysis. Familiarity with SEL and/or GE Relay Logic and programming Experience with SKM and/or ETAP software 

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Additional Information Salary Range(s): Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s): Location Description: Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CO and HI and MD Min Pay Range: $82,600 Max Pay Range: $119,800 Note: The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
