Power Supply Analyst I, II or III

Overview With minimal direction, performs the analysis, project management, review, and reporting of business data to support dispatch and commercial activities related to Power Supply, including the implementation of business improvements. This position works closely with the Lead Analyst(s) and the management team for dispatching and trading activities. \#LG&EKU \#INDLGE Responsibilities + With minimal direction, performs the review, analysis, and summary of business data to support dispatch and commercial activities within Power Supply. + Relevant business data includes energy volumes, prices, expenses, generating unit heat rate curves, gas transportation products/services, and other power market information. + With minimal direction, provides technical support to develop, update, and maintain technology tools, including software applications, used in Generation Dispatch and Trading. + These tools support the processes for committing and economically dispatching generating units, determining available power for trading in external energy markets, and reporting business data associated with Power Supply operations. Supports the Lead Analyst in Power Supply operations. + With minimal direction, implements and documents compliance processes, regularly monitors the implemented processes to ensure Energy Supply and Analysis compliance. + Supports the development of accurate regulatory and compliance information and reports, including input to filings and testimony. + Reviews publicly available transmission information and provides analysis and recommendations to Energy Supply and Analysis to improve reliability. + Performs monthly reporting related to the Fuel Adjustment Clause (FAC). + Uses a variety of software applications including CTS, AFB and Microsoft business intelligence tools to extract and process data for analysis and reporting. + Performs other duties and undertakes special projects as assigned. + Experience using R, Python or SAS to forecast outcomes, model uncertainty, solve optimization problems, predictive analytics, or automate complex processes. Qualifications **EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE** A baccalaureate degree in engineering, statistics, math, economics, data science, computer science, or business is required. Experience in data analysis tools such as R, Pyton, SAS, SQL, and VBA to automate complex processes. Experience Minimum three years of commercial power market experience required. General understanding of the physical operation of the electric generation and transmission systems; the natural gas pipeline system; electricity, emissions, and natural gas trading; and existing rules and regulations governing utility operations. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to multi-task and prioritize. Able to work under strict time constraints. Ability to work both independently and across functional areas, complete projects, and receive direction from associates. Licensure / Other Qualifications None. **SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS** An advanced degree in engineering, business, law, or economics preferred. Experience with industry tariffs, commercial energy products and marketing, including familiarity with RTO structure and operation, is a plus. **WORK CONDITIONS** Normal office environment.
