About the role:

In this role, you will be accountable for overseeing and controlling the safe and efficient operation of the power systems for both Alcoa and other external entities. This role will also oversee the Potable Water Systems and various Power Equipment Maintenance contracts and responsibilities for Alcoa Corp and Arconic. You will play a key role in efforts to improve reliability and maintenance of various plant power equipment. This will also act as backup to the Power System Group Leader for vacations, training, sick leave etc, as well as provide Safety Leadership to entire plant around High Voltage Systems. Coordinate Special Safety Initiatives as required for High Voltage Maintenance.

Provide direction and support to assure Power System Equipment and Operations maintains a 99% reliability. Provide first contact for Power Metering confirmations with the New York Power Authority, nominations for contract and above contract energy usage.Provide assistance to the Power Manager for Power Metering and Billing Contract Assistance.Update the Massena Smelting Forecast file with accurate power bill data (mid-month and end of month).Supply accurate Power Reduction bids to Third Party for participation in the NYISO DSASP & SCR programs.Provide support, training and administration of all personnel on the “on-call” list to meet corporate mandates to minimize potline power interruptions and respond to Power Operational Alarms.Monitor SCADA system and be first contact for any issues.

What you can bring to the role:

A minimum of an associates degree or relevant experience is required.Incumbent must be organized and detailed with ability to communicate with individuals at all levels, both internally and externally, as well as be able to multi-task.Ability to organize procedures for adherence to corporate and local mandated safety regulations, for all Plant Employees and Contract Personnel.An electrical background is preferred.

Base salary: $72,000- $105,000*

*Actual salaries will vary and will be based on a range of factors, such as candidate qualifications, skills and competencies. The base salary is only one key component of our total rewards for employees.
