Service Operations Manager
Your role and responsibilitiesIn this role, you will have the opportunity to be a design authority for an engineering discipline. Each day, you will complete assignments on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring assignments are completed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards.The work model for the role is: #LI-onsite This role is contributing to the Electrification Service in Engineering and Project Management in ABB Spain. Main stakeholders are utilities and facilities. You will be mainly accountable for:•\tWorking with the customer to shape and deliver solutions while seeking customer feedback to drive and deliver improvements.•\tCreating work plans and cost estimates for the portfolio of projects and ensuring quality, timely implementation within the targeted cost.•\tCoordinating with relevant functions to ensure the designs are appropriately manufactured / staged, tested, installed, and commissioned.•\tCoaching engineering colleagues on the translation of conceptual designs to engineering documentation, best practices, and lessons learned from past projects.You will join a high perfomace team where you will be able to thrive.
Qualifications for the role\tKnowledge in Spanish Grid Code and other grid regulations, with expertise in grid-connected systems using different control strategies.\tAdvanced skills in protection systems for distributed generation grids.\tExtensive experience in studying and analyzing protection systems, ensuring compliance with grid standards and operational reliability.\tBackground in design applications such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, Inventor, SolidWorks, LabVIEW, Ansys, Fluent, PSCAD, and Bladed.\tBackground in simulation and real-time hardware testing, including Typhoon HIL Solutions.\tAdvanced programming skills in C, Assembly, Python.\tPassionate about protection systems, smart grids, and distributed energy resources, including photovoltaic systems and wind turbines.\tKnowledge of renewable energy, control techniques grid-connected/islanded inverters.\tYou are comfortable communicating in multiple technical and professional environments.
