Overview

As an intern, you will work on value added projects to help us achieve this goal. Our internship program also allows you to network and learn about different engineering and technical departments at Joby Aviation. Our interns will take on a high degree of ownership and will be provided with support and guidance to allow them to grow and be successful in a fast-paced, engineering-focused environment.

Responsibilities

The Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering internship will work with the team of engineers making the factory for Joby’s electric powertrain. This is the equipment and processes for battery, actuators, non-propulsion motors, propulsion unit, and electronics. 

 

Powertrain and Electronics Manufacturing Test Powertrain and Electronics Manufacturing Engineering – Battery Powertrain and Electronics Manufacturing Engineering – Propulsion Unit Powertrain and Electronics Manufacturing Engineering – Electronics  

 

This internship is located in San Carlos, CA. 

Required Currently pursuing a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in a relevant engineering program such as Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic, or Manufacturing Engineering. Must be able to work for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and onsite at our San Carlos facility.  Strong verbal and written communication skills.  Demonstrated strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions. Demonstrated leadership skills through an academic, community or work project. Ability to take the initiative and drive for results in a fast-paced environment. Strong project and time management skills.  Desired Prior relevant intern or co-op experience. Attained at least a junior status by the start of the internship. 

 

The pay range for undergraduate interns, which includes freshman to senior level students, is $22-$31/hr. The pay range for graduate interns with a Bachelor, Master, and/or Ph.D. degree is $5,550-$7,800/month.
