Powertrain Mechanic/NDT Technician

Job duties require that this mechanic works in a rotary-wing aviation prop and rotor back shop inspecting, adjusting, and repairing gearboxes, rotor heads, rotor dampeners, tail rotor systems and sub-assemblies, stabilators, and other power train components. Candidate will be one of three NDT technicians in the shop. Occasional TDY trips to support NDT activities while aircraft are away from home station are required.
**Responsibilities**
+ Candidate will work on components from three MDS aircraft: MH-6/MH-47/MH-60.
+ Responsible for inspecting, adjusting, repairing, and returning to service power train components including gearboxes, rotor heads, tail rotor systems, stabilators, rotor dampeners, and other components.
+ Perform NDT inspections as required.
+ Will use supplied technical references to complete all assigned work.
+ Document all work completed in ACN.
+ Will use PPE and hazmat products IAW with technical publications.
**Qualifications**
+ Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) job requirements: Documented On-the-Job Training (OJT) and the minimum training hours in Eddy Current, Fluorescent Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, and Ultrasound. Documented experience should list specific method, aircraft type, results, and hours for each inspection.
+ Must be or become certified as Level II in at least two methods within six months of hire. Certification and qualifications are in accordance with the NAS-410 standard for NDT certification.
+ Must have the ability to follow written procedures, the skills and knowledge to standardize equipment, evaluate and interpret inspection results.
+ Must be a U.S. citizen.
+ Must be able to obtain secret clearance.
+ Must have own tools and toolbox.
+ Must be able to pass required NDT vision testing.
+ Must be familiar with digital record keeping systems such as ACN, ULLS-A, ELAS, etc.
+ Minimum of 6 years in aviation maintenance, preferably 2 years in a back shop environment.
