Summary
Drives strategic planning, implementation, and measurement of integrated corporate communications program related to company initiatives, sustainability, D&I, employee engagement and brand marketing communications efforts. Ensures strategic corporate communications disciplines both internal and external are industry-leading and deliver ‘best-in-class’ thought leadership programs, driving brand awareness, understanding and affinity. Writes speeches, press releases, articles, and content for internal communication platforms. Leads measurement and evaluation of KPI data for the communication programs and makes recommendations for future opportunities from an objective, continuous process improvement standpoint.
Essential Functions
Drives the development and execution of a successful strategic plan for corporate PR related to company initiatives, acquisitions, sustainability, corporate strategy and long-term vision. Develops stories and key business messages for internal and external audiences. In conjunction with the Director of Corporate Communications, defines corporate PR strategy for the company; partners with business leaders to craft communications ensuring that the corporate vision and mission are always conveyed to include; corporate announcements, press releases, reactive statements, and acquisition communications, as well as employee communications targeting the office and production workforce across different locales. Leads any external communication plan strategies surrounding Gallo as an employer, including awards and accolades. Provides leadership, editorial team oversight and strategic guidance for editorial communications, copywriting and editorial communications and writing standards. Builds and sustains working relationships with human resource teams, senior leadership, departmental colleagues, cross-functional peers and BU leadership to sustain and grow modern, coordinated and unified public relations and communications capabilities to meet business needs. Monitors, summarizes and shares thought leadership in relevant culture news and trends to identify opportunities to put employees at the heart of our internal communication initiatives and connect with them in innovative ways and formats. Organizes and plans high-volume of work, setting and tracking realistic deadlines. Creates internal communications plans and materials for GALLO. Drafts and/or edits press materials and pitches and conducts media outreach on behalf of GALLO. Also includes responsibility for internal media training of approved spokespeople. Manages distribution of any press releases, internal communications and media information in a timely and effective manner. Mentors junior public relations professionals, including those who report to different managers and may work remotely. Uses complete knowledge of the adult beverage industry as well as the Gallo business to confidently express opinions and influence, impacting both tactical implementation efforts as well as overarching strategic business decisions. Develops recommendations impacting brand public relations governance to change systems, policies, and procedures, while ensuring timely and accurate implementation. Participates in department and intra-departmental planning meetings, as requested, and works interdependently and seamlessly with both management teams and cross-functional peer groups to improve upon processes as well as contribute towards a best-in-class CoE on behalf of the organization. Serves as an external ambassador on behalf of GALLO and represents the corporate values with the highest of integrity. Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or Marketing plus 6 years of corporate communications or public relations experience to include 2 years of internal communications experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or Marketing plus 4 years of corporate communications experience to include 2 years of internal communications experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility. Skilled in the use of MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint at an advanced level, to analyze and summarize high volume of data. Experience leading highly visible corporate projects, where decisions impact the project outcome. Experience working with all levels and functions within the company to include Vice Presidents, CEOs, and Boards of Directors. Candidate is required to have a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver’s license based on the position’s location within 30 days of hire. Required to travel between Gallo sites, when required, for high profile events or to be available for crises management. Demonstrated ability to develop and lead execution of strategic communications. Outstanding content development, writing, editing and counseling skills. Strong media relations skills, including proven experience as a spokesperson. Experience in crisis/issues communications and reputation management. Experience managing, crafting, and delivering inclusive corporate communications that speak to diverse audience groups and skillsets/job functions. Expert in verbal and written communication; possess superior organizational skills. Experience in project management and multi-tasking. Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or Marketing plus 8 years of corporate communications and public relations experience to include 3 years of internal communications experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or Marketing plus 4 years of corporate communications experience to include 2 years of internal communications experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility Staff management experience with teams of 3-5 people. Experience working in a leading alcohol beverage company. Experience responding effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Experience making effective and persuasive presentations to marketing clients, management, public groups or boards of directors. Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously. Experience working with all levels and functions within the company.

Compensation
Hiring Salary Range: $107,800 - $161,800/Year Actual compensation amount paid may be lower or higher to be determined by factors other than race and gender such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.Perks & Benefits
