Amazon is seeking an experienced public relations professional to support our rapidly growing and evolving free AVOD streaming service, Amazon MX Player. The video streaming service is changing the way people consume free and quality entertainment in India. Our mission is to build the widest selection of free video content and make it easy for customers to enjoy wherever and whenever they want for free.
Amazon and MX Player recently joined forces to accelerate premium free entertainment for over 250 million users in India. With this acquisition, Amazon merged two of India’s most popular free AVOD (or ad-supported video on demand) services – MX Player and Amazon miniTV into one service - Amazon MX Player.

Amazon MX Player is Amazon India’s big bet in terms of shaping the future of the free AVOD landscape in India. With a combined library of hit shows ranging from Aashram, Dharavi Bank, Bhaukaal, Raktanchal, Jamnapaar, Hunter, Physicswallah, Yeh Meri Family, Playground and more, along with a large collection of popular Korean, Mandarin and Turkish shows dubbed in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu called MX Vdesi, and a massive movie library - Amazon MX Player is one of India’s top entertainment destinations.

We are looking for a strong PR professional who can drive PR campaigns that tell compelling stories about Amazon MX Player. This is a critical role in the PR and Communications function based in Mumbai, reporting into the Head of Communications, Amazon MX Player. In the capacity of a PR Specialist , you will also partner with other stakeholders including Advertising PR, Prime Video PR teams, and explore areas of synergy.

As part of the PR team at Amazon MX Player, you are expected to execute communications programs and publicity campaigns designed to support a large slate of Originals, licensed and exclusive content from India and beyond, and build a positive narrative of the service for advertisers, brand partners and media agencies.

A successful candidate will the one that has extraordinarily high-judgment, excellent communications skills, exemplary writing ability, strong project management skills and has a talent for effectively managing projects with complex communication challenges and to be executed in stringent timelines.



Key job responsibilities
•Activate publicity campaigns for Amazon MX Player Originals, licensed and exclusive content across a spectrum of shows and genres.
•Conceptualize and execute press events for Amazon MX Player shows, including interviews with talent, set visits, premieres and press junkets for original, exclusive and first run content.
•Spearhead PR activations for the service that helps build positive equity with advertisers, brand partners and media agencies.
•Collaborate with stakeholders from a spectrum of business streams including content teams, marketing teams, social media teams, ads sales, brand solutions teams and external PR agencies.
•Keep current on trends, issues and news about both the business and consumer worlds of media and entertainment
•Build and maintain strong relationships with relevant media in the region
•Manage external public relations agency on several matters
•PR subject matter expert for Amazon MX Player in India
