Practical Nursing Faculty Location: Lehi, UT Status: Full-Time Hours: Monday - Friday; 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Pay/Salary: $65,000 - $72,000 Summary The Practical Nursing Faculty member is critical in preparing students to become skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs). This position involves being a team member with possible revolving roles across didactic, clinical, lab, and simulation settings. Faculty members are responsible for fostering a supportive learning environment that encourages student success while maintaining high academic and professional standards. Other responsibilities include participating in accreditation activities, attending faculty training and meetings, participating in curriculum development and implementation, assisting with lab and simulation experiences, verifying student competencies, maintaining student records, and maintaining and fostering relationships with clinical sites. What You'll Do: Responsibilities of the Practical Nursing Faculty include, but are not limited to: + Deliver instruction in classroom, clinical, lab, and simulation environments, covering theoretical content, clinical applications, skills training, and simulation exercises. + Facilitate engaging and interactive learning experiences that meet curriculum objectives and program outcomes. + Supervise and mentor students in clinical settings, ensuring safe and effective practice in patient care. + Participate in curriculum development, review, and revision to ensure alignment with accreditation standards, program outcomes, and industry best practices. + Create and maintain course materials, including lesson plans, objectives, assessments, and instructional resources for labs and simulations. + Supervise clinical instructors at clinical sites and maintain a presence in the facility. + Provide a detailed orientation for new part-time instructors and plan, organize, and provide annual training. + Stay current with nursing practice, education, and technology trends through professional development and continuing education. + Evaluate student performance through assessments, clinical evaluations, and skills pass-offs, providing constructive feedback and remediation as needed. + Adhere to professional and ethical standards, including the nursing code of ethics and the Utah Nurse Practice Act. + Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and performance. + Perform other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For: + A current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Utah is required. + A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Nursing Education from an accredited institution is preferred. An Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) with active BSN enrollment will be considered. + A minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience; teaching experience is preferred. + Must display strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. + Proficiency in instructional technology and software, such as Canvas, is required. + Experience with simulation-based instruction and lab coordination is preferred. + Familiarity with the accreditation processes and standards in nursing education is preferred.
