Position Summary
The WPPA Practice Administrator supports and is responsible for the daily administrative operations of a multi-physician, single/multiple department (s) within White Plains Hospital Physician Associates. Coordinates administrative functions, plans and supports development of the department (s) and all related areas. Manages all non-clinical personnel, maintains accurate and current files on all department budgets, capital equipment requests and programs related to operational issues. Supports Revenue Cycle functions, Quality and Service Excellence initiatives.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following:
1. Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors.
2. Management of daily operations & fiscal aspects of the department (s), make operational/administrative decisions.
3. Demonstrates ability to manage Department/Division in a fiscally responsible manner:
4. Manages daily operations and all personnel in the division and all related areas, including staff training & education.
5. Coordinates and oversees the resources of multiple administrative disciplines/functions.
6. Identify revenue cycle best practices and supports implementation within the department (s).
7. Develop policies and procedures to improve staff performance and operational efficiency
8. Collaborate and interface with other WPH hospital departments for marketing, communications, compliance, quality, patient satisfaction, etc.
9. Support customer service initiatives as well as interact with patients or others on customer service issues.
10. Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements
Undergraduate degree (required) with relevant 5+ years’ experience, Master’s degree in related field preferred.
Previous experience in hospital based ambulatory setting required
Basic medical terminology, Electronic Scheduling and Electronic Medical Record experience required

Physical/Mental Demands/Requirements & Work Environment
• Ability to perform computer work for extensive periods of time
• Occasionally move and/or transport of 15 to 20 pounds
• Requires movement about the department frequently throughout the day
• Ability to remain in stationary position for extended periods of time
• May be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks. Any hazardous chemicals the employee may be exposed to are listed in the hospital’s SDS (Safety Data Sheet) data base and may be accessed through the hospital’s Intranet site (Employee Tools/SDS Access). A copy of the SDS data base can also be found at the hospital switchboard, saved on a disc.
